The National Weather Service (NWS) has designated a ‘limited snow risk’ for most of Maryland and Northern Virginia on Wednesday and Wednesday night, indicating the potential for another winter storm in the region.
According to the forecast, there is a chance of light snow and/or sleet accumulation in certain areas, which could make travel conditions hazardous, especially on bridges, overpasses, and untreated or secondary roads. It is important to note that this risk is considered limited and is not expected to exceed this category due to the timeframe being relatively far out.
FOX5 meteorologist Mike Thomas expressed his optimism about the upcoming storm in a recent statement. He mentioned, “The signal on the European Ensemble looks promising, although the specifics are yet to be determined. We still have a week before the system arrives, so there’s plenty of time to gather more information.”
According to the NWS forecaster’s discussion, there is a possibility of wintry precipitation in the region on Wednesday into Thursday as a coastal low might affect the area.
We are still almost a week away, and there is plenty of time for things to change. We will keep a close eye on the situation and provide updates as soon as they are available.
