The Surprise Police have arrested the head football coach of Dobson High School in Mesa, Arizona.
Here’s what we know: Richard Godsil, a suspect, was apprehended by the Surprise Police Department on February 13th directly on the school’s campus. The charges against him include providing harmful items to minors and engaging in aggravated luring of a minor for sexual exploitation.
Godsil was taken into custody and placed in jail with a bond set at $100,000.
There are still many things that remain unknown to us: Police have not disclosed the specific details surrounding the events that led to Godsil’s arrest.
What people are saying: In 2019, Mesa Public Schools hired Godsil. A letter sent to parents clarified that Godsil’s arrest was unrelated to any Mesa students.
“Mr. Godsil was immediately placed on administrative leave and the district is, and will continue to, fully cooperate with the Surprise Police Department in their investigation,” Dobson High School Principal Gabbi Buckley wrote in the letter.
