An 18-year-old suspect, who was wanted for an armed robbery in Overland Park back in December, has been located and apprehended in Kansas City. The suspect had evaded house arrest prior to his capture.
Zaviere C. Williams, 18, the suspect wanted for an armed robbery in Overland Park, has been apprehended in Kansas City, according to records filed on Monday, Feb. 10, in the Jackson County, Missouri, Circuit Court.
According to a criminal complaint filed by the Johnson County, Kansas, District Attorney’s Office, Williams is accused of robbing a victim at gunpoint in Overland Park on December 19. The victim’s backpack, which was taken during the incident, contained their Airpods, Macbook Air, and wallet.
According to court records, Williams faced charges of aggravated robbery in Kansas on January 7. Later, on January 13, he was ordered to undergo house arrest.
Honorable Abbie Rothermich in Missouri has filed an extradition waiver, compelling Williams to come back to Kansas and confront his charge there.
As of Friday, February 14, it appears that Williams is currently incarcerated in Kansas. A court appearance has been scheduled for 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 19. There is no additional information available at this time.
