SANDOWN – Though town leaders expected a couple more years on the Phillips Road Bridge before deterioration forced its closure, a recent inspection by the state has forced it to be shut down. Bridge inspectors were out Thursday, July 30, and by that afternoon the selectmen’s office was alerted to the closure requirement.
