The Chester NH Lions Club will sponsor a Health and Wellness Fair on Sat. May 20, from 9 a.m.- noon, in the Multi Purpose Room at 84 Chester Street, Chester. This fair is open to all ages and will offer information on nutrition, fitness, diabetes, heart, lung & stroke issues; blood pressure, hearing and eye screenings; help for the blind, holistic medicine, acupuncture, massage, reiki, essential oils for health, physical therapy, caregivers, hospice, AARP, VNA & Veterans health issues. It is free to the public and refreshments will be available. Everyone who attends will be given a ticket to be put in drawings for health and fitness related door prizes. Available during Library Hours‚ The Chester Public Library will be continuing its ongoing book sale fundraiser this summer. The book sale rack, located in the library, is always full of books and media for sale to help benefit the library and its many programs! Prices range from 50 cents for paperbacks to $1 for hardcover.
Save your pennies and loose change to help decide who gets the a pie in the face this year at the Chester Town Fair! The money raised this summer will go toward the purchase of a new Cricut (cutting machine). Donate your change in the jars at the Chester Public Library between June 23 and September 8!
The theme for this year’s program is ‘Build a Better World.’ To kick this year’s program off, Marek Bennett, a comic book creator, will be visiting the library on Monday, June 26. When the summer comes to an end and the reading program winds down, puppeteer Diane Kordas will perform on Friday, August 11, at 6:30 p.m. in the multipurpose room. The Hampstead Public Library’s cake pan collection has grown! Cardholders can now borrow over 20 pans for special occasions. The selection includes a rocking horse, dinosaur, train, Elmo, and a beautiful beehive. The Hampstead Public Library has installed a new Little Free Library at the Hampstead Town Hall! This red-fronted box is located on a post near the front of the building, just to the left of the announcement board. A Little Free Library is a place for free book exchange. Anyone may take a book, bring a book to share, or both! No library card is necessary, and there is no need to return any books you'd like to keep. The Hampstead Public Library has already stocked the box with a variety of books for children, teens, and adults, so stop by the Town Hall and pick one up!
The Hampstead Congregational Church's summer worship hours will begin on July 2. The new worship time will be 9:30 a.m. Safe, consistent childcare will be provided each week, so set a little time aside for your spirit this summer.
