CHESTER – Logging equipment in place at the end of Ledge Road was vandalized last week, with several windows in three vehicles destroyed.
According to Chester Police, two excavators and a Ford F-350 all had their windows smashed with rocks. The estimated damage is $10,000 for each tractor and another $2,600 for the pickup.
Reportedly owner Grant Benson came upon the damage on Thursday, Aug. 21, at about 2 p.m. He had checked on the equipment the day before.
The police are looking for suspects. There were no tire tracks leading into the area.

The department patrols all areas of town, but police chief Bill Burke noted that special attention will be paid to the Ledge Road area in coming weeks.
