SANDOWN – With the Friday, Jan. 31 deadline approaching to file for town and school district elected office, some residents have already signed up. The filing period closes Jan. 31 at 5 p.m. The Town Clerk’s office will be open that day from 3 to 5 p.m. for election filings only.
Three selectmen seats are open. Cynthia Buco has signed up to run for the two-year seat, and incumbent Jim Devine is seeking to run again for one of two three-year seats.
Anthony Piemonte has filed for the one-year budget committee seat. Three other seats have yet to attract candidates – two three-year seats and one two-year seat.
Incumbents Mark Traeger and Doug Martin have signed up for the two open three-year seats on the planning board.
All three incumbents – Bill Tapley, Dennis Giangregorio and Paul D’Amore – have signed up for the three open fire engineer positions.
Incumbent David Drowne has signed up to run again for both cemetery trustee and trustee of the trust fund.
Also open but not yet attracting candidates are a three-year library trustee position and a six-year supervisor of the checklist seat.

One school board seat on the Timberlane Regional School District is open for a Sandown resident. To file for that seat, visit the Timberlane District office at 30 Greenough Road, Plaistow. Call 382-6119 for information; filing closes Friday at 5 p.m.
