HAMPSTEAD – The Police Building Committee has finalized its plans for the Police Station Open House and erection of signs in favor of Warrant Article 5, which would authorize the funding to build a new police station. Lawn signs will be put out by March 2.
Police Chief Joe Beaudoin said his men are preparing for the Open House, set for March 2 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hamburgers and hot dogs freshly grilled as well as soft drinks and tours of the station are featured, with the chance to talk with the officers.
Beaudoin said the Fire Department has offered to bring its new tanker and the ladder truck for the community to see. The High Sheriff will bring his vehicle and the SWAT vehicle will be there as well for people to visit.
Only one person showed up at the first information session about the warrant article, but a second session is slated for Thursday, March 7, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the library.
